Time for a Hiatus?

Today’s Count: 0

Additional Raptors Seen:

Cooper’s Hawk-1

White-tailed Hawk-1

Thanks to Joe for doing the count today.  As you can see, he didn’t have much to view.  I briefly stopped on the tower and there was an ok Gnatcatcher movement and Joe had a small push of swallows early.  He also had a fair number of hummingbirds come in to the feeders today.  Otherwise, it was a day with strong south winds, which kept the action away from us.

You only can take it one day at a time here when it comes to the weather forecast at Smith Point, but I do believe it’ll be what the forecast says for tomorrow-another day with strong south winds.  If the forecast for the next few days is true, then we’ll have continued strong winds, with a southerly component, through Wednesday.  The long-term forecast has relatively strong southerly gusts all the way through next Monday!  But, like I said, let’s just take it one day at a time.  The hope for tomorrow will be that the 40% chance of thunderstorms will hit the point and bring something interesting along with it.
